Expanding Our Capacity: District Cover Raises TIV Limits to $10M

At District Cover, we’ve always believed that businesses in America’s cities deserve better insurance solutions. That’s why we’re excited to announce an important milestone: District Cover has expanded our Total Insured Value (TIV) limit from $5M to $10M for select classes of business. This isn’t just a bigger number. It’s about closing a critical gap in the market, what we call the Schmiddle, and giving our distribution partners the ability to serve more clients with confidence.

The Schmiddle: An Overlooked Market With Real Opportunity

The commercial insurance landscape is bifurcated:

  • Small business platforms are quick and tech-driven, but built for <$2M accounts.

  • Middle-market programs want $15M+ TIV, $100k+ premiums, and come with layers of underwriting red tape.

That leaves a coverage and confidence gap in the $5M–$10M range. The businesses in this gap are some of the most important players in their neighborhoods:

  • Family-owned retailers expanding into new locations.

  • Restaurant groups scaling into multi-unit schedules.

  • Mixed-use landlords maintaining legacy buildings in high-density corridors.

  • Real-estate developers with an eye and space to bolster community in the area

Most say “no” to these accounts. At District Cover, we were built to say “yes.”
